When I got involved in the local food movement as a journalist, my story - and my path - changed. The writing I was doing for newspapers began to evolve. I still did a lot of general reporting but I would seek out stories about farms, local food and conservation. The passion I had always felt for every single newspaper story I wrote centered increasingly on environmental issues. That was in 2008, and I now have more stories under my belt than I can count.
